What we collect
- While a child plays: how each puzzle was solved (answers tapped, slips, hints, time taken), tied to a random code on the device. Not the child's name: the detective name stays on the device.
- If you ask for new-case emails: your email address and when you agreed.
- If you send us a note: what you wrote and, only if you give it, an email address to reply to. Notes are deleted after a year.
- If you create a parent account: your email (if you sign in with Google, Google tells us only your email address: not your name or photo), and for each child a nickname and school level (P1-P4). No birthday, real name, school or photo.
Why
To show you your child's progress, to make the puzzles better, and to email you only what you asked for.
Where it is kept
Records are kept on servers in Singapore. Emails (confirmation links, sign-in codes, and notes you send us) are sent through Amazon's email service in the United States, which only sees your email address and the message. Play records that are never linked to a parent account are deleted after 90 days.
Your choices
- Unsubscribe from any email with the link at the bottom of it.
- Download or delete everything about your family from your account page.
- For sign-in security we keep, for each active sign-in, the type of device and network address it came from. They go when you sign out or delete your account.
- Questions: privacy@otterclue.com, or send us a note.
